Interculture Language Academy (ILA) locates in the heart of Kobe which developed as a cosmopolitan city having the largest trading harbor in Meiji era in Asia with a lot of foreigners living in and the many exchange groups of each country. Now, Kobe is the 5th largest city in Japan and has been selected the 5th cleanest city in the world by Forbes. Since ILA was established, students coming from 65 different countries (Asia, Europe and the USA) have been studying the Japanese language and cultures at ILA.

We are always trying to do our best in order to meet our students' needs by teaching them at their level and providing them with all the supports they need. We offer many different courses: Graduate School/ College Preparatory Course, Short-term Course, Japanese Language & Culture Course and Private.
We also hold free JLPT/EJU Preparatory selective classes ( Mathematics I & II, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, General knowledge), and also free classes of English or Japanese Conversation, Kanji and additional catch up a level. We can advise you in a helpful manner such as the interview manner, the way how to write the proposal for Graduate School, etc. The most hard-working students are awarded scholarships and awards such as the Grand Prize Excellence Award. Our top-ranking students have the opportunity to advance to some selected colleges, universities or graduate schools without entrance examination as the recommended students by ILA.

Interculture Language Academy accepts students not only from Korea, China or around the Asia region but also from Europe and America as well. We provide Japanese lessons inclusive of exposure to facts and figures about Japan which relate to Japanese history and society. All lessons such as Calligraphy, Tea ceremony, and others are meant to deepen the understanding of Japanese culture and all students enjoy and learn at the same time.
We provide lessons which cover from Beginner to Advanced which help to understand deeply about Japan, thus supporting students in further study in universities and to look for employment.
Our school has been selected as an excellent school by the Japanese Immigration Office in Kobe Branch of Osaka. Our school is the oldest and largest Japanese language school (Capacity 348 persons) in Kobe.
What impressed me the most were the teachers. Every one of them was so enthusiastic, and cared so much for the students,. They helped us not only about the classes and lessons, but also for anytime we needed them. Kobe is a beautiful and convenient city that I didn't have any difficulty settling down.

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged ¥ 4,000 when you register.
