Freeda Language Space has two schools in Barcelona, one in El Born (C/dels Flassaders, 7) and another in Gracia (Carrer de Alegre de D'Alt, 57). Both schools are accredited by the Instituto Cervantes and FEDELE, and we are also official examination centers for CCSE, DELE, and siele. All our teachers are native speakers with extensive experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) and hold high linguistic and teaching qualifications. We have our own method: the Freeda Space Method, which helps transform theoretical knowledge into practical, real-life skills. The Freeda Space Method includes up to 20 hours of tuition per week with native teachers, studying in small groups of up to 12 people and lots of practice in a relaxed atmosphere that invites you to speak form day one. In addition, you can continue learning and practicing in our activities: excursions and cultural celebrations. Thanks to all this, our students know how to introduce themselves, order a coffee in a bar, ask questions and talk about topics of interest.
The nationality and age mix at Freeda Language Space varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 30. In the summer, the average age is 30.

Freeda Language School is located at the very centre of the city. It is close to the Picasso Museum, the Arc de Triomphe, Parc de la Ciutadella, the Picasso Museum and dozens more attractions in the centre of Barcelona. The sea is a 20-minute walk away.
I started attending classes at Freeda Language Space in March 2023, right after moving to Barcelona. I began at A1 level — all I knew at the time was “hola” and “gracias”. But within just six months, I could already handle everyday situations in Spanish — going to the doctor, visiting the bank, and more. Fast forward two years, and I’ve reached C1 level. I’m now fluent!
I owe it all to the incredible quality of teaching and the amazing teachers at Freeda — especially Lara, Alisia, and Txell, who guided me through most of my journey. Classes were genuinely enjoyable, with a great balance between grammar, exercises, and practical speaking. What made it even better was how we explored Spanish culture — from local traditions to history and current events. That cultural immersion really helped me adjust to life in a new country.
Freeda also goes beyond the classroom, offering extra activities like weekend day trips to nearby towns and cultural walks around Barcelona. These outings helped me see more of Catalonia, meet fellow students, and feel part of a community. I loved these little excursions — they were not only fun and educational but also great for practicing Spanish in real-life settings.
The school’s location is another big plus. I studied at Freeda Born, which is centrally located near lots of cool cafés, museums, and other attractions. It’s super easy to get to — whether by metro, bus, or on foot.
Honestly, the only downside is that these two years flew by way too fast! If I could, I’d gladly spend even more time learning here.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us!
It's been an absolute joy to watch you grow from "hola" and "gracias" to full fluency at C1 — ¡increíble! Your dedication, curiosity, and openness to new experiences made all the difference, and we're so proud to have been a part of your language adventure.
Our teachers, Lara, Alisia, and Txell will be so happy to hear your kind words!
It’s especially wonderful to know that the classes, teachers, and cultural activities played such a meaningful role in your experience. We’re also very happy that the extra activities helped you feel more connected to both the language and the community here in Barcelona.
Thank you once again, and we wish you all the very best in whatever comes next.
