The city of Aix en Provence was founded by the Romans in 123 BC. It is located in the south of France and is known for its thermal hot springs. It is considered a prestigious student hub as it is home to the Universite de Provence Aix-Marseille, established in 1409. Some events are also staged in the outdoor Theatre du Grand Saint-Jean just outside of Aix.
