The university town of St. Andrews is on the east cost of Fife in Scotland. It is the largest settlement on Fife. Students enrolled in an English school in St. Andrew might be familiar with this famous town because of its association with the game of golf, but there is much more to the town. Be sure to spend some time exploring the historic St. Andrews Castle ruins. They sit atop a cliff top offering a great view. Also visit the St. Andrews Cathedral ruins. There are several different walking tours worth taking within the town. Most of them take you past all of the significant landmarks, making them a great way to become familiar with this lovely town. Students studying English courses in St. Andrews may even be able to catch some historical reenactments at the Castle, the Cathedral and the Church Square during the months of July and August. Students might enjoy visiting the St. Andrews Botanic Gardens with approximately 8000 species of ferns, herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees. Students might also enjoy exploring the Fife Coastal paths to see more of the area. For a night out, consider visiting the Byre Theatre. It offers both professional and amateur productions in drama, comedy, opera, concerts and films. Of course, since St. Andrews is known as the home of golf, visitors might enjoy a trip to the British Golf Museum which traces the history of golf from the middle ages to the present. Students are sure to enjoy their time in this lovely part of Scotland.

English half day tuition (10 hours a week, 10am to 12noon, Monday to Friday): Practise the 4 skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking with a focus on pronunciation, vocabulary and fun activities.
£412 per person (up to 4 students maximum).
English every morning with afternoon tours on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday and Thursdays are paid bar lunch days where we relax over lunch for conversation.
Inspired by the popular TV series Outlander, this course is a general English course with tours taking place in the afternoon to some of the sites where the series was filmed including the town of Falkland where the film of Outlander starts and which shows the famous ghost scene at the fountain! Your visit will take you to the historic harbour of Dysart in Fife representing Le Havre in France in the film. We will then visit Culross, a famous Jacobean town and we will also see Balgonie castle.
This scientific English course is taught by a science graduate and gives you the opportunity to practise scientific English related to your own discipline. Plenty of discussion of numerous topics to suit your professional interests and linguistic needs.
