The Intensive Course is a course designed for students who wish to improve their overall English language level as quickly as possible, and to develop their skills and knowledge in a particular language area through a range of Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
The General English lessons will be dynamic, interesting and rigorous and will take place in the mornings, so sometimes in afternoons during summer.

Description: Based upon the results of their placement test, students will progress through a series of levels. This is an integrated skills program that combines reading, writing, listening and speaking using a communicative approach.
The General 20 course focuses on language fluency as a main goal. The four major skills students will practice are reading, writing, speaking and listening.
One-to-One tuition is the ultimate course for making maximum progress during a short period of time. This is an intensive course which is 100% focused on your English language needs and designed by your teachers to meet your requirements.
Semi-Intensive English (24 lessons per week) is only available to students studying in the USA or Canada. This course offers General English plus 4 lessons per week of Special Focus lessons.
One-to-One tuition is the ultimate course for making maximum progress during a short period of time. This is an intensive course which is 100% focused on your English language needs and designed by your teachers to meet your requirements.
General English (20 lessons per week) will give you a practical understanding of the English language and take you all the way to fluency. See your confidence improve as we train you in all four communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Intensive English (30 lessons per week) includes the above General English classes, and also allows you to personalise your course by taking an additional 10 lessons per week from a wide selection available.
However kindly note that in order for a student to attend a course at EC New York they must be fully vaccinated, therefore a copy of the vaccine certificate must be presented at time of booking.

This semi-intensive program includes 20 General English lessons per week designed to
improve your progress in English. Classes focus on the four language skills using the R.
The Academic Skills class is designed for students who look to continue their education in American colleges and universities. Students will practice listening to lectures, working on group projects and writing academic essays.
The English for Tourists Program is the best option for students visiting New York City for a short time. The program is 20 lessons per week and it focuses on providing students with essential English skills while still leaving students with plenty of time to explore the city.
You will have a personalised OHC English Programme based on a strategic needs analysis by OHC.
The schedule is flexible and you will choose how many lessons you will have and on which topics and areas of language you would like to focus, depending on your personal objectives; for example, you may wish to improve your Conversational English, to concentrate on your Grammatical Accuracy or develop your ability to Read and Write in English.

How long should I study?
The minimum duration for a language course is usually two weeks, but students benefit the most starting from the 3rd and 4th weeks of their language course, after they get used to the new environment. By this time, the early distractions are over and the student has "settled in". The average student takes about 12 weeks of language studies abroad.
