"Fantastic school and community"

Justin Fanning, student from USA

I did the super intensive course for one month and stayed in the school housing, everything was fantastic I cannot recommend this school enough. Krakow is now my favorite city and I made great progress in Polish. I intend to return to this school in the future. The teachers, course, and community and this school are all fantastic.

"Pleasant learning"

Uwe Töppen, student from Germany

The two weeks of Polish at the Prolog school were very enjoyable and I learnt a lot. The lessons were challenging, but not stressful. I really enjoyed this atmosphere. Everyone was able to try out a lot in the small group.

"It was very intense and helpful!"

Annina Haase, student from Germany

I stayed in a room in the apartment of a very nice lady who only spoke Polish, which challenged me every day to tell her about my daily activities and was a very nice practice. The school was only a 3 minute walk from the apartment, which was very convenient. The teachers and other students at the school were enthusiastic and motivating. The classes included many different types of learning methods (quizzes, listening exercises, small tests, speaking exercises, etc.).
Unfortunately, I chose an off-season time for my stay (early June), so there were not many students at the school. During my 2-week stay, I was in groups with a maximum of 2 students (myself and one other student). This made the course very intense, but limited the social interaction outside of the course. I had individual lessons every day, where I could always choose a preferred topic. There were no activities offered by the school during my stay.
I experienced Kraków and the Ojcowski National Park either on my own, with other students or with other friends I made outside the school. I can really recommend the city for a stay as there is a lot to discover.

"A week at Prolog was one of the most challenging and productive weeks of my life"

Helena Theresa Janisch, student from South Africa

I have Polish heritage and for this reason have been teaching myself Polish for some years, mostly using the Duolingo application - a good app, but I felt the need for more immersion - hence Prolog. I decided to try it for a week. It was definitely quite overwhelming and disorientating to be in Poland, far from home and my home language (English). But my teachers and classmate were so friendly, skilled and encouraging, the teaching materials really good and the encouragement to experience Polish life so sincere. I had a really good time, learnt so much my head hurt. I would love to come back for longer next time - maybe a month to consolidate more knowledge.

"Bon moment et tres bon apprentissage mais malheureusement pas la bonne saison pour etre avec plusieurs etudiants"

joris villet, student from France

"Very good beginner's course in a beautiful city"

Pierre Geldhof, student from Belgium

This two weeks beginner's course in the beautiful city of Krakow was intensive but very useful. The teacher was very professional and very experienced. Doing your homework is absolutely necessary to make the lessons even more useful.

The city of Krakow is a jewel and spending some weeks there was a wonderful experience. I had booked a nice flat near the Vistula river I was very pleased with.

"Learned a lot but couldn`t keep up"

Artur Pakosch, student from Germany

I learned a llt about the language.- The school was well equipped and everybody was very nice..

But I couldn`t keep up the tempo of the class and the teacher didn`t respond to that at all. At the end I spoke to the office which was very helpful but it was already a bit to late. Also there was no list of vocabularies given to work with when we worked in the book. The lettering of the Slavic language is not something that comes easy for me so lists of vocabulary would have helped. For people like me that have to work after school it`s not really possible to learn them on a daily bases after class and what was mentioned there.
Also the other students had already some courses at home and was prepared so we didn't really matched with our skill level which should be a pure beginner course.

"Fantastic, adaptable and constantly supportive."

Connor Wainwright, student from Afghanistan

I stayed studying at Prolog for a period of three months and began my studied with absolutely no knowledge of the polish language. I am also not the fastest learner when it comes to languages but despite this I found the teachers to be excellent, patient and supportive. Not only did they help me improve my abilities but they also gave me great advice as to life in Krakow and great places to visit.

Further to this the school was well organised and was willing to adapt my hours and schedule as per my needs. They made sure I got all the hours I had paid for and enough materials to improve my Polish well.

I unfortunately took the course in the winter and subsequently did not participate in any of the immersion activities that take place in the summer, nor did I make use of any housing organised by the language programme.

"Well resourced school with experienced language teachers"

William Keith Timney, student from UK

I learned a lot on several grammar cases which was needed. I took a lot of new vocabulary. The welcome pack is thoughtful with vocabulary book and class books. The extra grammar resources and tables are very helpful. A lot of teaching in Polish helped with comprehension and pronunciation. The Easter Breakfast event with the whole school was very kind and beautifully put together for students.

"I found the staff pleasant helpful and informative.hopefully I will be able to attend on a future date work permitting."

Gavin Weatherley, student from UK

The only way from my point of view to improve the format would be to make a digital version of the literature to give the choice of working from a computer or hard copy to enable you to retain a copy of the work completed and retain the original copy for future practice.

Jedynym sposobem z mojego punktu widzenia na poprawę formatu byłoby stworzenie cyfrowej wersji literatury w celu umożliwienia wyboru pracy z komputera lub wydruku, aby umożliwić zachowanie kopii ukończonej pracy i zachowanie oryginalnej kopii do przyszłej praktyki.

"Great teachers and a great pilot for some after school fun!"

Gwendolyn Somberg, student from Netherlands

The teachers were really good. Very patient and they didn't mind to repeat themselves multiple times.

The Pilot was also really Great! He made nice activities almost every day. So you never got bored.

There was always something to do. The school was easy to reach with the tram.

My home was a bit far from school but I didn't mind traveling with the tram.

I actually cannot find something that I didn't like. Everything was spot on and I learned a lot in my three weeks!
