Accommodation for our Language School students is of extremely high quality. Students stay in single or twin-bedded study rooms and each student has their own wardrobe, drawers, desk and chair. Each bedroom has an en-suite shower room or is situated very close to our modern wash and toilet facilities.

The majority of students will stay in single bedrooms. Twin bedrooms are normally of mixed nationality to encourage English development. Parents can however request in writing for sisters/brothers/friends to stay together and we will do our very best to accommodate this request.

Each boarding area will have a House Parent who is responsible for those children overnight. In addition there are duty rooms within the boarding accommodation where staff will sleep on a rota basis.

The Stonyhurst campus is a self-contained community, which offers children a degree of independence and freedom to explore in a safe and secure environment.

With a generous staff to student ratio, we guarantee round-the-clock care within a happy, well-ordered environment. We encourage staff to cultivate a friendly, lively, family atmosphere to ensure your child will feel comfortable, contented and supported while they are away from home.
visa

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from SLS. Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
