"Great !!!"

Petra Michels, student from Germany

The two weeks I spent at ELS in Cincinnati was an unforgettable experience for me. My schooling was way back, so I can not draw any comparisons to other teaching hours of today, but the lessons has been very varied and interesting. All the staff I was dealing with were very friendly and competent. I was able to have a friendly relationship with the host family after a short time, the accommodation and food there was nothing to complain about, we were asked to express our wishes, which were gladly fulfilled then. The food was healthy and varied. I have found many new friends during this holiday.

"The school was alright, but I expected more adults as it was said on the Internet."

véronique jourdes, student from Spain

I liked the classes. The teacher was really good. He spoke maybe a bit fast, but it was to make us get used to the normal speed. I expected a different kind of workshop. For me as an adult among young people, it was difficult to socialize. That's what made me a bit disappointed.

Cincinnati's homestay families offer a warm and welcoming environment. The homes are just a bus ride away from the ELS Center. They are also located close to attractions and events throughout Cincinnati. The families' homes are located in safe residential neighborhoods that are easily accessible to campus by either a shuttle or a bus.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $110 when you register.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
