Saludos a todos! I spent six weeks learning Spanish at DWS. It was a great experience. The teachers are all very knowledgeable not only in how they teach Spanish, but also in working with language learners from diverse cultural backgrounds and at a wide range of ability. During my six weeks I was the only student in my class, so I received the added benefit of having my classes tailored exclusively to my language level and interests. The teachers that I had were extremely helpful in identifying targeted areas of instruction, and were responsive in addressing gaps (most notably my ignorance of the Voceo tense, which I had never learned). Additionally, the course content was engaging and immersive; each of my teachers provided valuable insight into Argentinian culture that proved very helpful during my trip. As a teacher myself, I can say that the quality of instruction at DWS was superb. My only regret is not staying in Buenos Aires longer.
Show details » Read more...I was disappointed with my experience. I understood this program to be an "immersion school" that would help me integrate into the culture of Argentina and Buenos Aires, meet other travelers, etc. Instead, despite my requests to be placed in a group, I was assigned to private lessons. These lessons consisted of me and my instructor sitting in a classroom in front of a chalkboard for two hours every day, practicing verb tenses. It was very dull and not "immersive" at all. I had been studying Spanish for several years already and felt that this program gave me nothing more than I could have gotten from a high school level Spanish course in the United States. I stopped after one week. If you are just starting out with Spanish, you may find it helpful, but it did not serve my needs whatsoever and did not live up to its promises of dynamic cultural immersion.

Facilities are kind of old. But apart from missing AC they were fine with me. Location in general is very good.
Size of class with 3 people in total is perfect.
Other than that there were no further activities.
Housing was descent. The host was a lovely person though.
I was in this school in a strange time, Corona virus was coming up. Our teachers gave us good information and updates about the local instructions. But besides that, they made the lessons interesting. They have asked what I want to learn and they adjust their lessons to that.
Not only to my wishes of coarse ;-) They have arranged a lovely apartment within 15 minutes walk from the school. My flight was a bit early but they managed that I could get in earlier than normal. The school has a little patio, so in between lessons we drink our coffee there and tried to practice what we have learned in the lessons.
I arrived in Argentina from France without speaking Spanish at all and I had only three weeks to learn for my travel in South America.... and they did it with me !! All the team is very great and they really adapt theirs lessons to your needs and progress. The organization is top and the location too in a nice part of the city. I spent three wonderful weeks in Buenos Aires thanks to them, I was really enjoying to go to my Spanish lessons every day and meet the teachers and other students. Thank you so much !!

I loved the school. The teaching method was fantastic. I had two teachers, Aries for a week then Santiago for the rest of the course. Both were great. Santi did an absolutely amazing job to teach me Spanish and we went very rapidly though the levels from A2 to C1 in 3 months. Feeling like a got a lot out of it!! I very much enjoyed Santi's teaching methods, conversations, and he even managed to make me absorb the subjunctive topic- a great teacher!
The location was great. I did not stay at the housing provided, so cannot comment about it. The social activities were not that great. In 3 months of attending the school I have only been invited to 2 activities, I did not know about the rest of them. The 2 activities that I went to were in not so nice locations.... I think the school could do more in this respect.
But overall I had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend the school to anyone I know!
Muchas gracias a todos!
