CLC Montreal is popularly known as “the school that feels like home.” Located in the beautiful residential area of Monkland Village, our school is just a 5 minute walk to the Villa Maria metro station and a quick ride to downtown Montreal. Monkland avenue is full of upscale restaurants, cafés and boutiques. In the summer, the street hosts several festivals including the Monkland Grand Prix Festival and The Flavors of Monkland Festival. The vibrant neighbourhood and easy access to the Old Port and downtown make CLC Montreal the ideal location to study.
Students can choose from a variety of part-time and full-time classes in French and English as well as private lessons. We are also offering three brand new and exciting programs this year: the Pre-Immigration Program, the Student Travel Program, and the Slang 20 Program.
CLC Montreal offers free wifi and facilities include: a computer room with free internet access, a small library and a kitchen area where students can make themselves feel at home. There is also a Yoga studio next door where CLC students can get a 15% discount!
With a plethora of student activities, there’s always something going on at CLC! Weekly activities include volunteer club, game club, food club, and pub club where students can put their newly acquired language talents to good use. Additionally, there is a weekly Friday activity where students are guided to popular points of interest in and around Montreal. Moreover, we host a fun activity called Language Tea Time where students can meet locals and practice their language skills with native speakers every week.
Our students are usually young professionals who come from all parts of the globe and take language learning seriously. You are bound to meet some amazing people here and make long-lasting memories.

CLC Montreal is popularly known as “the school that feels like home.” Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, our school is just a few minutes walk to the Peel metro station and an 8 minute walk to the Bonaventure metro station. Saint-Catherine street is full of wonderful restaurants, cafés, and entertainment. The vibrant neighbourhood and easy access to the Old Port and downtown make CLC Montreal the ideal location to study.
I particularly liked that I worked with a different instructor each week allowing me to adapt to different approaches to language instruction and learning. I was thus required to adapt and listen to different pronunciation of French which allowed me to expand my listening skills. Each instructor tracked my development and was able to track my progress and language needs from week to week. I found the location of CLC both close to my work and home and therefore it was very convenient to attend classes. I chose to have private lessons and therefore was able to gear my learning to my personal needs (I was preparing for the French exam given by the Office). Private classes also allowed me to change the day and time of my classes when my work schedule required to be at work on a particular day. Each instructor provided engaging exercises geared to my level and needs. Often, it was hard to believe that the time for my 1 hour lesson had already elapsed.
I sometimes found the acoustics of the rooms challenging for listening. The open concept room set-up sometimes creates a noisy and distracting listening situation particularly for language learning. Such a set-up could be particularly hard for students who have a hearing loss, attention deficit, language processing difficulties, etc.
Thank you Zinta for your valuable feedback! We are happy to learn that you have enjoyed the customized learning experience that we provide in private lessons. We will continue to work to improve our facilities.
Its just amazing how we learned French. I will never regret the time I spent in CLC. Time learning is always time well invested.
The teachers in CLC were amazingly patient and understanding. We highly recommend it.
Thank you Bernardo for your positive feedback! It is always a pleasure for us to be with our students because we learn a lot from them too and form memories with them that enrich our lives that much more.
CLC ended up becoming more than a school to me and was the key to a whole new network of international friends.
I was really happy choosing CLC as my French language school in Montreal.
As promoted, the class sizes were small, usually no more than eight. The interactive nature of lessons means students develop communication skills, speaking and listening, rather than just the theory of written French.
While grammar is covered, the classes encourage engagement especially with written assignments to read in class. This is when you really get to learn more about others and their life circumstances in Montreal, leading to solid friendships.
Teachers and staff at CLC were professional, friendly, kind and patient which creates a warm atmosphere and helps the learning process!
It's a high quality school with good outcomes - my French progressed more than I anticipated and the tea time sessions where you can speak with others learning the language was also a great help!
Thank you CLC!
Thank you Sally for your kind words! Our warm atmosphere is possible because of students like you that share and promote our values of being positive, open and respectful.
CLC is a very unique and special place for language learning. They take on a very community based approach with teachers who are friendly and knowledgeable. The lessons were short and succinct but also fun and revolved around each student's particular needs. They were also wonderful at introducing new arrivals to the area and try to have everyone in the school, no matter which language they are learning, to meet and mingle. Overall this school is a great place to improve your skills or practice new ones, you feel automatically at home.

1. About our class: we had a small class so each of us had the opportunity to practice English, and our teachers have enough time to correct our mistakes.
2. About our teachers: Each of our teacher's mother tongue is English so we can learn authentic English, our teacher was so kind, one of my grammar teachers invited me to his house to cook.
3. We had a lot of social activities, most of the activities were in contact with local residents, so it provided us a good platform to exercise our oral language.
Alan, thank you so much for your kind review! We hope you come back to visit us soon!
