Our IELTS course is suitable for students working at a minimum B2 level and aims to push your IELTS scores from level 5 – level 7.
Lesson will aim to develop your skills in each of the tested areas, including:
- Academic Reading
- Academic Writing
- Listening
- Speaking
Our resources help you to develop your English skills to level 7, revising your language skills and offering you lots of practice with activities designed in the style you will face in the exam.
Your teachers will be able to offer detailed advice on the techniques needed to succeed in each part of the exam.
You will also be given regular homework to encourage you to continue your language development outside of school time.
Lessons are designed to both develop your skills and give you practice of each section of the exam.
Each course is separated into five modules. You will have a tutorial meeting with your teacher after each module, who will tell you what you are doing well and give you advice on how to improve.

Britannia English Academy is located in the heart of Manchester at the very centre of the city. It is close to the National Gallery, Piccadilly Gardens, the shops of Market Street, and the fashionable area of Chinatown. The school's excellent location means you are never more than a short walk away from all the major attractions in Manchester.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Manchester. These homes are often between 25 - 50 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Student residences are more suitable for an independent student, who is looking for clean, basic accommodation at an economic price. All students must be 18+. We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.
If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 200 when you register.
