We carefully select all of our hosts and we have been working with some for many years. A typical homestay provides a family feel, and could be one or more adults with or without children. We have a large selection of homestays to choose from and any that host under 18 year olds are guaranteed to be police checked.

We also have a designated Homestay Accommodation Officer who visits the homes to ensure they are of a high standard. We believe that choosing the right host for you is very important, as we want you to feel comfortable, happy and safe during your stay.

Most of our homestays are within walking distance of the school and adults aged 18+ are guaranteed single rooms all year round.
When living with a host, you’ll enjoy home comforts and learn a lot about the English way of life.

Using every opportunity to practice your English is important to learning faster. We make sure that you aren’t in the same house as another student of the same nationality. You’ll learn much more by speaking in English at every opportunity.

“My host family is really good. They are polite, communicative and help me in all situations if I need it. The food is very tasty and my room is very tidy so I’m happy.” – Victoria

During our quieter seasons, students can have a room to themselves, unless they ask to share. As it’s busier in the summer, students under 18 years old share a twin-bedded room to help with demand.

What we need to know from you
The more we know about your needs, the more we can do to help. Whether they are special accommodation requests, allergies or dietary requirements, let us know before arriving. We want to match you with the homestay best suited to you.

Many hosts in England have pets. Therefore, if you do not want to stay with a host that has animals please tell us and we will do our best to help.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
