"An experience that everyone needs to live at list once in their lives."

Camila Fernanda Medel Rosas, student from Chile

My experience was really good, I enjoy and learn in every class, the teachers are nice and make the study very joyfull, the staff is always ready for help you and that is something pretty amazing.
The location is good, very close to the tram and buses, is very easy to acces. In terms of facilities I think that the school make a very good effort, everithing was clean, new and usefull.

"It was wonderfully spent time."

Kristýna Kubínová, student from Czech Republic

The overall experience was great. Teachers were professional but also fun. Classes were educational and entertaining. The after classes activities were great to get to know other students. The only thing that I didn't exactly enjoy was the location of the school because of the people outside in that area but it is fine if it is still daylight outside.

"It was a very good experience, the people of this school were very friendly."

Jeanne Gautier de Charnacé, student from France

This school was very good, I met the person very sympathic. My teacher, Raquel, was really good, this class was funny and interested. Everyday there were activities with the school, so it was cool. I went out with my friends after class. I liked communicate school.
But my family was not friendly and was far to Manchester, she didn't speak with me so is not good for improve my English, the only positive point was my room, it was big and I had my bathroom. there are evenings where I didn't eat because she didn't call me.

"Very rewarding experience where I met interesting people and proficient teachers."

Lena Nilsson, student from Sweden

Very good location of the school. Good classes with proficient teachers.
Nice and clean facilities, (though lacking a micro-wave.)
I did not particularly like the school-books, which I found rather confusing with dense texts, jumbly exercises in different colours and fonts. Nothing for students with dyslexia, ADHD etc.

"Great experience"

Florian Guezennec, student from France

what I have preferred in class was there were different foreign students. It allows me to discuss and understand a lot of tradition about each country.

I have had 2 teachers and Alexander Kassia, there were very nice and kind to me and all other students.

The school is located in the center of the city.

"It was a very enriching and enjoyable experience."

Karla Terrero M., student from France

I loved the city, the classes, the teachers and the students. Classes were made of multicultural groups and I was able to meet different kind of people. The classes were very dynamic: we played games and went to different trips around and outside the city. I was challenged to practice my English in every context when I was there.

My host and her family were very kind and helpful. They really made me feel part of the family. They were concerned about my learning. Very often they asked questions about what I had learned or how they could help to maximize my experience and improve my English.

The school' staff was very nice and helpful. They always gave me all the information I need and they always tried to adapt my classes in order to make them as most advantageous as posible for me.

"It was very fun experience"

Nina Ninčević, student from Croatia

Studying at Communicate School was a very good experience for me and I really had a lot of fun. The teachers were highly qualified and they gave excellent knowledge to the students in the classroom. The location, for me is not very good, I don't like the centre of Manchester because the streets were very dirty and different people on the street were horrible. But outside of centre Middleton was good. It's where I stayed. If I tell someone else about my experience in the school, I will share everything good about that. Perhaps choose another location or country. I see you have school in Malta for example.

"My experience was very good because I had improved my English."

Cristian Andres Salinas Farias, student from Chile

My experience with the school was very good because the teachers were very friendly and they had a lot of knowledge. My accommodation was good too and very near from the school (ten minutes walk). The activities were interesting for me and was possible for me to meet other students from different levels. The classes were very helpful and I could improve my English (increase my vocabulary and learned grammar.)

"Totally recommendable"

Nirlia C. Batista Litig

Hi,
I have had a great opportunity to try some classes from Communicate School. I have had a great opportunity to try some classes from Communicate School. Even though they are a small school, they have qualified professions, good quality and easy to understand teaching materials.
Not to mention the great location and warm welcome from staffs and all of team.
I felt very happy and satisfied with the level of school and chance to study with stunning classmates from different places.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to invest in your English learning.

"Professional – friendly – listens"

Pascal Fournier, student from Switzerland

School:
It was easy to find in the middle of the town. The rooms were clean, but the walls were too thin (We could hear everything from the class next to us.) with circulation on the street which was sometimes noisy.

Teachers:
Were very professional, and gave me motivation. They were comprehensible.

Housing:
After the first week, I had to change my house family because there wasn’t any social contact and they had bad cooking.

My next housing was fine, but the house was near the highway (Man-Leeds) and there was too much noise. I didn’t have a table in my bedroom to learn either.

I will change my house family in 10 days, because they will be moving in a new house.

Negative:
The cost of trips (Metro Coach) in Manchester is too expensive. If you move in the middle of the month, Metrolink doesn't accept to pay back the cards you don’t use!

Trip Airport - House Family:
The school took 50 pounds, but the taxi only cost me 25 pounds!

"It was a rewarding experience"

Christelle NKU, student from UK

Learning English at Communicate School was a very good experience in my life. In three weeks, I improved my English vocabulary, my grammar, and my pronunciation, because there was a lot of speaking. My teachers were very patient and very comprehensive. One of the things I liked the most in Communicate School was the conversation class. The school is located downtown so it is very easy to find it.

"Communicate school has been like my family"

Hilal Belemir Yavuz

Communicate school gave me fantastic times for 3 months. I spent one of the beautiful times of my life. My teacher was very great, supportive, very kind and patient. He always taught interesting grammar methods of English. I had never been bored. The classes were small but lovely. The school doesn't have a lot of students there. It was important for the school that students learned something. The students came from very different countries, which meant that I could learn other cultures and languages.

The school location is very easy to find because it is almost at the city centre. I can go for coffee and to other shops (but it wasn’t necessary to go for coffee because the school allowed us to use the kitchen and microwave, and they gave unlimited free tea and coffee). Communicate School had 3 or more activities per week. This gave me the chance to see different places and meet the other students from different countries. We spent beautiful times. Communicate School’s employees and owners are very nice, polite and helpful, and they always have big smiles on their faces. When I needed help, they sorted things quickly.

In sum, you should try the privilege of Communicate School. In my opinion you won't feel sorry with your decision.

"I definitely know what ILTS is about now and how to face it. I have a better idea of my own real level of English and I have the tools to improve it."

Juan-Manuel Fabres

Three things I have to highlight about the school are:

1. Commitment of every teacher with their students: They all appeared to me as well-dedicated to the personal needs of everyone. The teacher encouraged me to do my best and go for my goals in a realistic way.

2. The teachers kept a professional profile at every moment, but they were genuine and authentic in their opinions though. You had a real person in front of you, which made me appreciate diverse faces of the English character, an important part of knowing a language for me.

3. The mixture of expertise and knowledge of the whole staff was based on their previous experience of learning a new language or being a foreigner. In my opinion, this gave them a closer approach to the process of learning English itself.

Things why I choose the school:

1. It is a family run business, and it seemed to me that the administration could be more committed with the organization of the school.

2. The possibility of having One-to-One classes tailored to my personal needs. Especially, to improve my oral English.

3. The number of students per class is low.

4. The information on the web site showed me that teachers have different specializations.

5. Pictures on the web site show classrooms had good illumination and the furniture is well arranged (not traditional).

6. It is in the centre of the city.

I do not have any complaints except that I wish I could have been there longer.

"Excellent experince"

Abdullah Alharbi, student from Saudi Arabia

It was a very excellent and nice experience with Language International Study in Manchester, UK. Everything was in a high level - the reception, the personnel, the teaching staff, and the studying materials. Regarding the housing building, it was very nice, safe and clean. The cleanliness was as described on their online webpage. (One note though: I wish that the total of students did not exceed 12 students – my class had 15.)

Also, one of the best things was the professional preparation made before joining the course. A very very special thanks to Anne Hordijk who really made everything easy and was a very cooperative and active person.

Of course, I will recommend this to all of my friends and neighbors.

"The experience made me studious and everyone was friendly!"

Louis JOYE

I really enjoyed my trip in Manchester, and this school, Communicate School of English. I improved a lot because of the teachers and all the staff who were very understanding. I could do what I wanted, and worked on my different skills with different lessons. I came to work on my listening and my reading, as these are the skills demanded for my TOEIC test, though I also had the opportunity to work on my speaking. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for a longer time, which was too bad because I would have really liked that. I worked very hard to prepare for my test, and I didn't have enough time to make the most out of all the activities, but I was able to play football with the manager of the school and other students. They were friendly.

Thanks for your review Louis. I hope you had a safe journey back to Lille. You will be missed in the school and in our school football team!

"I am really satisfied. It has been a great experience!"

claudio guglielmelli

I have spent 4 months studying in this school. I remember when I arrived I was not able to speak good English, and my writing skills were awful, as well as my listening. I thought that it would be impossible to improve all these weaknesses in such short time. However, I was wrong - it is possible. If you study hard, evein in just 4 months, it would be possible to achieve a suitable level of English.

I started from the Pre-intermediate and finished the course attending the Upper-intermediate class. Finally, I was just a few steps away from the Advanced one. As a result, I think that The Communicate School helped me reach my goals and improve massively my English skills.

As for the teachers - personally, I think they are brilliant. They are so professional and well-organized, and at the same time are amazing as people. All these 4 months have been useful and pleasant. Now I am able to speak in English and to communicate with everyone because of them and their efficient teaching method.

I would like also to talk about the location and the facilities, which are really good and efficient. The school is located in the middle of the centre of the town and it is definitely easy to reach. The activities organized in and outside the school are really well-planned and are so important for the social life of all the students. Also, it is a crucial way for the students to meet people, to discover the city and to find out places and facilities that only the natives know.

The only think that I don't like (I am so sad to talk about this) is the strict policy about fees. In my opinion, the Communicate School should be more flexible and look after its students considering that the majority of them are living abroad in an expensive country. In addiction, I think that the Director should give more possibilities to attend more challenging classes, because it is the only way to improve rapidly!

Emilia Domin

I didn't spend a long time in Communicate School but I liked being here very much. I am very happy I had a chance to attend this school. It's a very friendly place. I wish I could stay here longer. I met lots of very nice people, both students and Communicate School's team. Lessons were very interesting and useful. We talked a lot and learned a huge amount of new vocabulary. If you want to become more confident in your speaking, you should come here. The location of the school is very convenient; it's exactly in the city's centre.

Kopecký Aleš

I have only one word to describe the school: Excellent. When l was looking for a school in Manchester, l wanted to attend a school in the city center that had a family approach. Of course, l was wondering about the level and the cost. This school offered many choices for beginner and advanced students.

I therefore chose this school because it was only this school that met my expectations.

I thank everyone who work in this school.

The classes are good. You can speak and meet a lot of people come from to very different places in the world. I know new friends and I'm very happy. About the teachers, I think they are great! I have the possibility to know some of them out of the school, during the social activities and I learn much. Speaking about the activities I think they are nice but I would like are more, because is a good way to improve the language and also to socialize!

"It was a great experience"

Caroline Jouet

It was a very good personal experience. I met a lot of people, who comes from the different countries. it's very interesting to share different cultures.
I liked my class, people are very nice but sometimes, we were too much and so it was difficult to practice the English language. The location of the school is very easy because it's in the city center. My teacher Victoria is really a good teacher. She is patient and energetic. I have learned a lot thank of her.

Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

Ask a question

"What kind of accommodation is it?"

Airton Cançado, student from Brazil

It is a private single room in a 3-4 bed flat with a shared bathroom, shared kitchen/living room.

"I have two prospective students (friends) from Saudi Arabia who would like to study at Communicate School. Can you get back to me on these by tomorrow? The students would like to stay at the same host family. Could you provide a twin room at a home stay for them? The students have a tourist visa and are interested in 6 weeks of study. Would you accept them into this course on a tourist visa or would you require them to apply for a student visa?"

We should be able to either find a twin room for them or two rooms in the same home stay (standard price). The boys can share an airport transfer cost as well if they are
travelling together. Students on a tourist visa can study up to 6 weeks so it's fine. I suggest to let the students know that home stays are already being booked for the summer so we would need to receive the booking as soon as possible to guarantee the twin option.

"I have a prospective student from France who would like to study at Communicate School. Since they are 2 siblings booking together, do they have to pay twice the registration fee? Do you have a sample activity program of the extra curricular activities organized by the school?"

Yes the registration/ enrolment fee is per student, so both should pay this fee. We usually have 2-3 activities per week, these include in-school and outside of school activities, for example film night, conversation club, cinema, bowling, football, picnic in the park, traditional British food, sightseeing in Manchester. We sometimes do some trips at the weekends (Liverpool, Chester, Lake District) - and also usually we encourage students to join the trips organized by the International Study Society (which brings together university students in Manchester).

"I sent you the enrollment for her two daughters. However, she has not paid us yet, she has just asked us to keep a place for them until next week that she can make the payment. Is this possible?"

Helene Camrrubi, student from France

I will mark it as provisional booking.
