Course description

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

SGIC Admission Test or Completed English High Intermediate level at SGIC or TOEFL iBT 79 and up / IELTS 6+ (Oral test required).

DURATION

2 Semesters ( Each semester takes 100hrs)

BUSINESS COMMUNICATION:

Business Communication Plays an important part of this course. Each student will compile a body of written work in a portfolio. Each student also assigned to research a country of his/her choice in a comprehensive project on business in a global setting, with emphasis on business and communication without borders. The students will also give oral presentations based on their written reports.
At the beginning of every lesson newspapers are reviewed for vocabulary, global news to gain awareness of our world and any new technological development. Phrasal verbs and idioms for the workplace and everyday life will be reviewed so students become conversant with Canadian and North American business and culture.

PRACTICAL BUSINESS ENGLISH:

This practical part of the course offers students an opportunity to explore modern business concepts in a North American English-Speaking context. In addition to the wealth of vocabulary taught pertinent to business culture, students will be working in a skill-enhancing environment.
Students will gain confidence and acquire the experience and knowledge in the following skills: how to make effective telephone calls; the precess of negotiation to become a better negotiator; how to prepare for job interviews and how to organize and deliver powerful presentations. Students will finish the course thinking more worldly, more business conscious and equipped with English skills applicable to business at large.

All homes are in close proximity to the subway station, our efficient and safe transit system.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged C$ 100 when you register.

Flights and airport transfer

Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Toronto based on your budget, schedule and preferences.
